FAQs : Home Safety

What is the age requirement on outlet plugs?
Every child is different and what works in some homes may not work for others. This device is designed and intended to make it difficult for children to gain access to outlets. Children develop at different rates and some children may develop the fine motor skills necessary to pull on these plugs earlier than others. The device is substantially child resistant however it is not child proof. Therefore when a child is able to defeat it we strongly encourage parents and caregivers to discontinue its use and replace it with a different product solution.

Please remember to read and follow instructions completely.

Do I have a warranty on the childproofing products I purchased?
Small childproofing products such as outlet plugs, bi-fold door locks, furniture corners, door knob covers, toilet locks etc. are warranted to be free from defects in workmanship and material under normal household use and service for 90 days following date of purchase for most products. Some of our products do have a 1 year limited warranty. This warranty shall not apply to damages arising from neglect, accidental damage, or commercial use of the product. This is a limited warranty. Liability for consequential property damage is expressly excluded. Proof of purchase is required. To make a claim under this warranty, you must contact Dorel Juvenile Group's Consumer Relations Department by emailing consumer@djgusa.com, by faxing 1-800-207-8182, or by writing to the following address:

What is the age requirement on latches?
There is not an exact age limit, just remember that this product is only a deterrent. It is not a substitute for proper adult supervision. Discontinue use when your child becomes old enough to defeat it. Toxic and dangerous substances, as well as sharp edged or pointed objects, should always be placed "higher up" or made otherwise totally inaccessible to small children.

Please remember to read and follow instructions completely.

Where can I find the model number and manufacture dates on childproofing products like outlet plugs?
The model number and manufacture date can be found on the packaging. Most of the time the model number will be in the lower right hand corner on the front of the package.
